Big Don gets his feet wet, shares his take on our company culture, and explains his vision of customer experience at Bak USA.
I’ve only been at Bak for a little over a week now and I already know this company is like no other I have ever seen or will likely ever see again. The energy, the excitement, the passion, the creativity and most importantly the DIFFERENCE that this company/family makes is truly incredible.
Every day that you come into work at Bak you know for certain a few things will occur. You know that you’ll be challenged, you know you’ll be engaged, and you know you’ll laugh. Being able to do those things every day at work is a privilege, especially knowing that all of the work is to help with education and the community.

One of our projects currently is figuring out how to take all of those positive and unique characteristics that define Bak USA, and then creating an identity or persona for ourselves. Figuring out how to communicate with the world and everyone we have contact with, that THIS is who we are. THIS is what we stand for.
With me being in customer service we are working on putting all of that together to try and redefine what customer service can be. We want our uniqueness, passion and creativity to shine through everything we do. We want our emails, phone calls, tours, marketing, sales–everything–to be different. There is an amazing combination of friendly, warm, diverse, motivated, funny, and intelligent people here and we want that to show.
We know that showing our personality isn’t the only important part of customer service. We also want to show people what great customer service really means. We want to be fast, knowledgeable, and efficient.

There are a few ways that we are accomplishing that. A big part of it is having everyone in the company on the same page and the same team. We all know that if something needs to get done, it doesn’t matter what your job title is, making sure the problem gets fixed is the most important part. There is true collaboration and team work involved with fixing issues as they arise.
Because of this, everyone knows each other’s names and it helps create a much more open and accessible work environment. Having that type of attitude really helps make things better for both employees and customers. Employees feel more comfortable and the customers get better and faster help because we are able to work together to get things done the right way.
We are working very hard to make sure that customers get the best service possible from start to finish. And with this combination of people and attitudes, I think that we can truly create an amazing experience for our customers and our community.
