We’re headed back to ISTE, and this time we’re bringing Teacher Trivia. Here’s everything you need to know about how to play.
Headed to ISTE this weekend? You’ll have a chance to win a brand-new Atlas: the 2-in-1 laptop purpose-built for education. And even if you’re #NotAtISTE, you can still play for fun at home (sorry, no prizes for you this time). Either way, all you need to do is follow Bak USA on Twitter and play Teacher Trivia on Monday, June 25 and again on Tuesday, June 26.
What is Teacher Trivia, exactly? It’s a mobile trivia extravaganza where you can answer questions to win prizes from Bak USA. In other words, it’s a complete rip-off of HQ Trivia (except all the questions are education-themed and you play on Twitter instead of an app). We’re recreating the mobile trivia show at ISTE to engage our edtech audience in a fun, challenging, and rewarding way.
Besides, who doesn’t love a good round or two of trivia?
For more details, check out this intro video:
If you answer all 10 questions correctly—the quickest—you win. It’s that simple.
Other rules and words of encouragement.
I know what you’re thinking: “Isn’t it easy for me to cheat?” Well, yeah, it is. And these questions won’t be easy, so if you need to sneak a peek? Sneak a peek! But if you know the answer straight away, you’ll be able to enter your response faster. And remember: Speed is a factor—the quicker you respond, the better chance you’ll have to win. Only one response per person for every question, though, so don’t double-dip the chip.
Do you need to be a teacher to play? No, you do not. Everyone at #ISTE2018 (and #NoAtISTE) is invited to play, and if you’re a winner, you can come by Booth #367 to claim your prize. You watch. You tweet. You win. Pretty sweet, right?
Finally, you might be wondering: Do the questions get harder as the game moves along? Not necessarily, but they should be relatively challenging. And each question will vary by subject, so you’ll get at least one question about science, math, English, history, geography, art, music, physical education, health, and of course—technology—all in random order. Yep, there’s something for everyone from Bak USA at ISTE.
Let’s look at the prizes.
The grand prize of course is the Atlas Standard 2018 Model from Bak USA (retail value: $515). It’s durable. It’s versatile. It’s portable. And with a high-speed processor and long-lasting battery life, the Atlas is in a class of its own.
Other prizes may include an Atlas Carrying Case and other Bak USA swag such as t-shirts, stickers, and lanyards. Not too shabby, eh?
How we’re judging, scoring, and writing the “fine print.”
As we’ve said, whoever submits the most answers the quickest wins. That means we’ll closely monitor our Twitter feed to judge how quickly you respond with a correct answer. To keep track, we’ve established a simple scoring system, which looks like this:
- If you’re the very first person to retweet a correct answer to any given question, you will be awarded one point.
- If you’re the second person to retweet a correct answer to any given question, you will be awarded two points.
- If you’re the third person to retweet a correct answer to any question, you will be given three points.
And so on.
So the scoring system here is just like in golf: Whoever has the lowest number by the end of the event will be the grand-prize winner. So, if you answer all ten questions the quickest every single time, you get 10 points and a no-brainer grand-prize victory. You’ve got to be quick!
And yes, you must answer all 10 questions to be eligible to win.
We’ll be tweeting out a leaderboard on Twitter throughout the event so all players know where they stand, and we’ll announce a complete list of winners on Twitter on Wednesday, June 27. To claim your prize, please visit us at Booth #367.
As for the fine print: No Purchase Necessary. Purchase does not enhance chance of winning. Void where prohibited. Players are not permitted to create multiple Twitter accounts to participate. Only one response per player per question, please. If you’re the lucky winner, we’ll respect your travel accommodations and ship you your Atlas from our facility in Buffalo, New York, so you’ll have to please provide your address. Shipping and delivery times will be determined at a later date.
